Well, according to the online family roots-tracing source, Ancestry.com, the 19-year-old Harry Potter star who plays Hermione is a distant relative of of a Essex County, England woman convicted of witchcraft in the 16th century.

Joan Playle, who was convicted of witchcraft in 1592 and kicked out of the Church of England is Emma’s descendant. Oh well,
